ENDANGERED SPECIES

In Colombia there are 1.203 different endangered species. Taking into account criteria of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), 173 species are in critical danger, 390 in danger and 640 in the category of threat, 407 species belong to animals and 796 are plants.

 

  • Mammals such as the jaguar, whose habitat is the jungle of Colombia.

  • The spectacled bear is the only bear in south america.

  • The manati, has fewer population every day.

  • And emblematic birds such as the condor which is found along the Andes mountain range.
