According to Helber Mauricio Monroy, professor at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, the stock market is defined as “el sitio donde acuden oferentes y demandantes de dinero y se lleva a cabo una transferencia desde los oferentes que son los inversionistas, hacia los demandantes que son las empresas y el gobierno, quienes necesitan financiamiento” (Monroy Pedraza, 2014) There, different types of transactions are carried out among them in the currency, equity and derivatives markets, etc, where at the same time different alternatives of long and short term investment are found.

The Colombian stock exchange aims to be the mediator between companies that need capital and people or companies that have it and decide to invest in companies as they obtained a remuneration translated into profits generated by the company.

Here it is observed that between 2015 and 2016 the stock price of 2000 pesos has been falling, reaching the lowest point of approximately 1100 pesos; while in the course of 2016 the trends have remained constant
