For our industry the location of retailing is very important, since from this information, the company can keep in mind with which retail company can be made partnerships and which can be candidates to be future suppliers. In this way, “the retail industry is a sector of the economy that is comprised of individuals and companies engaged in the selling of finished products to end user consumers. Multi-store retail chains in the U.S. are both publicly traded on the stock exchange and privately owned. An estimated two-thirds of the U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) comes from retail consumption. Therefore, store closings and openings are used an indicator of how well the U.S. economy is doing overall”.
In the United States 13.0% of total retail sales come from Food & beverage stores. The 2016 list of Top 100 World's Largest Retail Chains includes 29 supermarket chains and retail grocery stores, not including the hypermarkets, warehouse clubs, discount stores, drug stores, convenience stores, and Internet retail websites that also have grocery and food retailing as a significant category in their retail business. In other words, global mega retail chains dominate retailing primarily because of food retailing.
Therefore, Global food retail sales are more than $4 trillion annually, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

On the other hand, the service sector is also very important for Green Road and its positioning in the industry, since having the correct information about each of the services related to the sale of fresh, healthy and organic food, it is possible to look which may be the possible areas of the city where customers buy more and in which areas there are potential customers for our product.
In the organic and healthy food and beverage industry in the city of Bogotá, the most representative places for Colombians who are accustomed to consuming this type of products are located in the northeastern part of the city.

Then from the above information, we find that retailers represent a large part of the GDP of the United States, as they are the places where people prefer to make purchases. It is observed from this that several of these retailers handle organic and healthy products, so they could be a good option to become suppliers of our company. Also, taking into account the locations of several supermarkets or healthy stores in Bogotá, Green Road can get more clarity about which part of the cities has needs for these benefits and which can satisfy meeting their short and long term goals.
